UK local elections bode well for May’s bid for bigger majority - BBG
Bloomberg is out with latest updates from the early results in the UK local council elections, suggesting that PM Theresa May’s Conservative Party was on course for a sweeping victory, supporting the prime minister’s bid for a large majority in next month’s national poll.
According to BBC, with 982 seats out of 4,851 declared, the Conservatives had won 467 -- a net gain of 133 -- while Labor secured 225, a loss of 94. UKIP lost all 38 of the seats it held that had declared results.
